Conceptual questions~ I give an answer but I want to make sure I got the right ones (; I don't get #30, though. 25) The strong man will push the two initially stationary freight cars of equal mass apart before he himself drops straight to the ground. Is it possible for him to give either of the cars a greater speed than the other? Why or why not? A: Yes, if the incline for each car is different... if they are on level ground, then no; inertia and the equal mass makes for equal acceleration on both cars. 27) If a Mack truck and Honda Civic have a head-on collision, upon which vehicle is the impact force greater? Which vehicle experiences the greater acceleration? Explain your answers. A: The impact forces are equal (Newton's 3rd Law - forces are equal and opposite), and the Civic also experiences the greater acceleration because the Civic moves faster (mass vs. air resistance - inertia) due to its smaller mass. 28) If you drop a pair of tennis balls simultaneously from the top of a building, they will strike the ground at the same time. If you fill one of the balls with lead pellets and then drop them together, which one will hit the ground first? Which one will experience greater air resistance? Defend your answers. A: If one ball is filled with lead pellets, both balls will still hit the ground at the same time because their mass vs. air-resistance ratios are equal. However, the lighter lead pellet-LESS ball will experience more air resistance.
@Mashy @Zale101 @DemolisionWolf ?
which question do u wanna start with?
in 25.. he is pushing them apart as in standing in between the two cars?
First one. Not sure... it's not clear. :/
