1. Which correspondence accurately describes the two congruent triangles shown here? http://i.imgur.com/0DlR9Vf.gif triangleABE = triangleBCD triangleAEB = triangleCBD triangleEAB = triangleDBC triangleABE = triangleCBD 2. What is the measure of angY? http://i.imgur.com/VWRU93V.gif 60° 180° 30° Not enough information given Thank you :)

Directrix (directrix):

Looking at the diagram and the number of arcs used to mark congruent angles, the correspondence of vertices has to be: D<->E C<->A B<->B Of the options, pick the one that preserves the correspondence. Because B must correspond to B, you can quickly eliminate some of the options. If you post what you get, we can compare answers, okay? @Nannarzz

Directrix (directrix):

For the second question: Because of the single slash marks on each of the three sides of the triangle, we know that the triangle is equilateral. All three sides have the same length. If a triangle is equilateral, then it is also ___?____ which would give each angle a measure of ___?____

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm awful with geometry, but based on what you said, I picked the third choice. It's the only one with that correspondence you showed. And for the second one, I picked option 1, because if every angle is 60°, it adds up to 120°. Am I heading in the right direction with these questions, or am I missing anything?

Directrix (directrix):

>> if every angle is 60°, it adds up to 120° If every angle is 60, then the sum of the angles of the triangle is 180.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I meant 180 :P. I hit the wrong number

Directrix (directrix):

If this is what you selected for the first question: triangle EAB = triangle DBC , then it is wrong. In triangle EAB = triangle DBC, E<->D A<->B B<->C This is wrong because B has to correspond to B. So, try again on question 1.

Directrix (directrix):

@Nannarzz Your answer to question #1 is wrong. Read the above. ^^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, I see now, with my choice, B doesn't correspond with b. From the looks of the other choices, the only one that would make sense, is the last one. A <-> C B <-> B E <-> D

Directrix (directrix):

@Nannarzz Yes. triangleABE = triangleCBD That is what I got.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix Thank you so much :). You explained this stuff better than my school did.

Directrix (directrix):

You are welcome.
