help?!? Given a cube with a volume of 18 cm3, what is the volume of a square pyramid that can fit perfectly inside the cube? (will give medal)
3cm 6cm 9cm 12cm
Hint: Find the side length of the cube, then you will be able to find out the height of the cube and the rest is just plugging in numbers.
how to find the side length?
@luka1998 Remember the volume of a cube is s^3. By cube rooting the volume, you get the side length s.
@croslali can you help
i cant seem to get your question .. in the question it asks for volume but your options are in metres .. not cubic metres... are you asking me find the height or some thing else?
i have to find the volume of a square pyramid that can fit perfectly inside the cube
hmmm.. wait a moment
@croslali I do think there is a typo in the question - the units do not match up. Didn't notice it before.
simple!
your answer is 6cm^3
you want proof?
yes plz
can you see the formula in the bottom? well ok see the side of the cube you gave me is cube root of 18 ok??
\[\sqrt[3]{18}=\]
side of cube
now the max h of the pyramid= side of cube ie cube root 18 ....
now acc to formula when we substitute we get (1/3)*cube root 18*cube root 18*cube root18 ie =>(1/3)18 =6
just take time to read and analyse each step carefully .. you will eventually get it .. i am sorry for the other day i was incredibly tired
thx u both
