(a+b)^2=a^2 + 2ab + b^2 a^2 is the x^2 2ab is the 10x -> 2xb = 10x -> b=5 b^5 is the 5^2 = 25 then: (x^2+10x+25)+22 = 0 -> (x+5)^2+22 = 0 -> x+5=+/-sqrt(22) you have two values: x=+sqrt(22)-5 and x=-sqrt(22)-5
