if you add the angles in every triangle, do they add up to the name number?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

When you add up the angles in a triangle their sum will always be 180 degrees.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Good?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

For any other polygons, to find the sum you can use the following formula. \[180\times(n-2)\] The way it works is that you plug in the number of sides for n. lets say you polygon is an Octagon- (it has 8 sides.) so you plug in 8 for n \[180\times(n-2)--->180\times(8-2)=180\times6=1080\]
