How do I simplify the expression using the imaginary unit "i"? √-24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I had this all written out and fancy and everything for you and then every contradiction in the book came flying at me and right now I'm laying here dying contemplating what would happen if I divide by 0. </3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, don't worry about it, thanks anyways @halorazer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take the square root of 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then multiply it by i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because essentially the negative is -1 or i ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sqrt(-24) = sqrt(24)*sqrt(-1) sqrt(-1) = i

This is the most confusing lesson I've done so far. Thanks for your help :)
