Find the additive and multiplicative inverse of -0.05.
For x, Multiplicative inverse is 1/x Additive inverse is -x
I know one of the is 0.05 but I'm not sure the other
Look at what I said above.
so would it be 1/-5?
no.
Lets say you have 4.
ok
What makes 4 zero is -4 so -4 is additive inverse.
Now multiplicative inverse is what makes 4 into 1 so for 4, it would be 1/4.
@alyssajobug, do you see how MULTIPLICATIVE inverse and ADDITIVE inverse work?
kind of, I just learned about it, I think I get it. it would be more like 10/5 then?
NO.
$$\huge -0.05*?=1$$
$$\huge -0.05+?=0$$
@alyssajobug, lets continue from what @skullpatrol said. for additive inverse, -0.05+x=0 solve for x for multiplicative inverse -0.05x=1 solve for x
opposite of a number: Each of the numbers in a pair such as 6 and -6 or -2.5 and 2.5. Also called additive inverse. reciprocals: Two numbers whose product is 1; also called multiplicative inverses.
ok so, its -20 in the end right?
Yes.
