how do you prove whether or not (x+4) is a factor of (x^3+8x^2+8x-32)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

replace x= -4 into the polynomial, if you get 0, then x+4 is a factor of it. If you don't get 0, then x +4 is not a factor of that polynomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so I have to set (x+4) equal to zero and plug that into the original equation?
