Use L'hospital rule lim x^a x->1 ________ x^b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(additional info) a and b are constants

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

It is entirely inappropriate to use L'hospital's rule for this limit. It simple is not an indetermiante form away from x = 0. Anywhere x is not zero \(\dfrac{x^{a}}{x^{b}} = x^{a-b}\)

i see. the rule said use the rule where appropriate thanks!

Excellent. I was worried about your course materials. Good reading.
