we have 2 sides in the number line. the positive and negative side. therefore, if we used the negative side, it would be -11 and if we used the positive side, we would have +3.

if one of the number is -4, then the other number can be -4- 7 = - 11 or -4 + 7 = 3
You can go 7 spaces towards negative or 7 spaces towards positive.
