Why is a cell undergoing mitosis referred to as a “Cellular Xerox”?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

hi!! welcome to openstudy!!:D as u r new to this site i would suggest u to go through the code of conduct once. now coming to ur question. in the process of mitosis the 2 daughter cells produced are the exact replica of the parent cell. Or rather that is the goal of mitosis( but problems can occur like some mutations) so it is refered to as cellular xerox
