On a set of architectural drawings for an office building, the scale is 0.25 inch = 5 feet. Find the actual length of each room.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

measure wall to wall with your ruler, and when you find out how many .25 inches there are in your measurement, times it by 5 and you will get the answer in feet. For example: If i measured with a rule and got 1.5 inches. I divide 1.5 by .25 and get 6, then I take that 6 and times it by the 5 from my do 6*5 = 30 feet. so the room in actual size is 30 feet, and on the drawing it is 1.5 inches

a scale of 0.25 inches = 5 feet is the same as 1 inch = 20 feet so measure the length and width of each room in inches... then multiply your answer by 20 e.g. a wall measures 0.6 inches so the actual length = 0.6 x 20 or 12 ft hope this helps
