Please help!!! Chase wants to factor x2+ 10x + 25 by grouping; however, Paige says it is a special product and can factor a different way. Using complete sentences, explain and demonstrate how both methods will result in the same factors.

in the case of special products try these http://www.intmath.com/factoring-fractions/1-special-products.php

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is probably square of a sum

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets do this by grouping first, the problem is x^2 + 10x + 25 what two numbers when multiply give you 25 but when you add both numbers give you 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x^2 + 5x + 5x +25 (x^2 + 5x) + (5x + 25) x(x+5)+ 5(x+5) (x+5)(x+5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the second part is that the polynomial is a perfect square, and thus it can be derived by simply multiply (x + 5) two times

what is 2y+4
