ANYONE ?????? Log the coordinates of the specific points in space to which your spacecraft will travel. Please remember to include the graph of your points and the lines connecting each point along with your work. Launch Area:___(1, 2)___ Point A:__________ Point B:__________ Point C:__________ You must show your work on each question below. Determine the equation of the line, in standard form, that will get your spacecraft from the Launch Area to Point A. Determine the equation of the line, in point-slope form, that will get your spacecraft from Point A to Point B. Determine the equation of the line, in slope-intercept form, that will get your spacecraft from Point B to Point C. In question 2, you selected one of two points (Point A or Point B) to be included in your point-slope equation. Write the point-slope form of that equation again, using the other point’s coordinates. Convert the equations you arrived at in question 2 and question 4 into slope-intercept form. Does the point you select matter when your write a point-slope equation? Explain your reasoning using complete sentences. Reflect back on this scenario and each equation you created. Would any restrictions apply to the domain and range of those equations? Explain your reasoning using complete sentences. Explain, using complete sentences, why it is important to understand any limitations on the domain and range.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is this algebra 1b or 1a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ummm ... what ? Lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk ? It's Algebra 2 ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try to post one question per thread next time, please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's all one question , sir .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a project . Can't be posted separately , that's stupid .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well to start you need 3 points, A B C to which your spacecraft will travel, since the problem says you can pick them pick any of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so would (2, -3) (2,4) and (5,4) work ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lets have (2,3) instead of 2,-3 since that its saying that your plane its up in the air goes down and lifts up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh .. okay .. haha my bad .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D, ok next we need to plot points including the point of launching in a graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so we're going to plot the points I picked ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes including the launch point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I know lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am I drawing that or something ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well since its a project you need to show your work and graphing paper should have been provided to you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do my schooling online ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, you need it on paper to determine the next step which is the first question, give your equation in standard form from laucnch pad to point A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly don't know how to do that ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

standard form requires where the line crosses the x and y axis and its way easier to see if its graphed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am going to have to draw a graph then I suppose

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok drew the graph and plotted the points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And the launch point ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

connect your point A to the launch point and extended to cross the y and x axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it should cross at 0,1 and -1,0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Close enough , I drew it myself to of course it's not spot on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your equation should be y = x + 1 now to put it in standard form we need to move the x to the left of the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so that should look like y = 1 + x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NOOO

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorrry I read it wrong , should look like x = y + 1 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not exactly, it should be to the left of the equal sign only the x so y = x + 1 y - x = x + 1 - x y - x = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and thats your answer for the first question y - x = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay , that makes more sense .. Hah let me record the information in my document real quick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your next question is point slope form so you need your point B and the slope from point A to point B point slop form: y -y1 = m( x -x1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so that would look like ... y - 3 = m (x-2) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think your point B is 2,4 so it should the 3 should be a 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I thought you said point A .. Confusion .. My bad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets change your point B to 3,4 that way its makes sense to go in a nice even trajectory

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your eqation should be y - 4 = (x -3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I should change that everywhere then ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure its your points it makes your equations easier to do because you are going to have to explain how the trajectory is going later on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh okay , well i changed it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we havent use it so its ok for now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I mean I would have said something but you know, I've been warned by moderators twice today that I am too helpful and that I shouldn't give people the answers after going through and showing every step I took and explaining them. Because all we need in this world are some moderators that want to inhibit the learning process.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@halorazer OMG haha that cracked me up ... But I've been in that position and I hated it .. I'm really sorry :( Its like being in jail in a way lol ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JAMG BE RIGHT BACK ! Please don't go anywhere , just going to get my dinner and come back .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because answering hundreds of questions in a few days is the wrong thing to do. I'm sorry Open Study developers, I am helping the people on your website. I am so sorry for answering roughly 100 questions in 3 days, I am sorry if I did not go to college for 6 years to do the exact same thing that I'm doing now. Oops. Guilty as charged.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Omg , that was just perfect .. You're so right though .. But I've gotta get back to this project , message me if you'd like :) @JAMG I'm back !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyways, I don't care about them. What's the project? :3 I'd love to help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, we are goint from point B = (3,4) to C = (5,4) and this time we need point intercept form which is y = mx + b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can do the last questions :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@halorazer Basically I just need to answer the questions above with the information I have . Which would be by 3 points , A B and C . I'm on the 3rd question now :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JAMG You're not going to help me no more ? :'c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hehe, she said she wanted to help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You both can help ..? :'o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok your slope = m =( y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm a he. You can do this. I will probably get banned for trying. D; Good luck. I will be watching from the shadows. >:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to go for like 10 minutes you guys !! PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ME D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, have a picture of a she so i assume which is bad :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay. :3 I would think the same thing too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never mind , I'm back .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JAMG So that would look like this .... m = (4 - 4) / (5 - 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes , so what do you notice about the top number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Top number ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 - 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would equal 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

UGH Be right back again .... 10 min max I swear :( PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE DD:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I"M BACK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NOOOOOO @JAMG YOU LEFT :((((

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm present.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So ... you can help me finish this God forsaken project ? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As long as I don't get banned first ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should be okay :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so where were you guys?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Question 3 :) & I already wrote out the equation so maybe we're on question 4 now O.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m = (4 - 4) / (5 - 2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yepp !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0/3=m 0=m Therefore, the slope of this is equal to 0, and is is a horizontal line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is *

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There's like a hundred messages so can you like give me the points and whatever, and the question? >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol yes , the points are A(2,3) B(3,4) and C(5,4) . The current question we're on is number 4 so that would be "In question 2, you selected one of two points (Point A or Point B) to be included in your point-slope equation. Write the point-slope form of that equation again, using the other point’s coordinates."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What point did you guys use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Point B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What was the slope? I am gonna need that. :p I'd rather not have to recalculate the slope between a and b.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope ? :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope of what ? We didn't establish a slope ..? :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should have? o.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We didn't D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A(2,3) B(3,4) y2-y1/x2-x1 4-3/3-2=1/1 =1 m=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y-3=1(x-2) y-3=x-2 +3 y=x+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh snap ... it makes sense now ... Let me go back and change everything in my document .. 1 minute !
