Help please explain! write standard equation for a circle endpoints of diameter at (-4,-2) and (8,4).

OpenStudy (amistre64):

find the distance and midpoint associated with the points

OpenStudy (amistre64):

given points A,B ... midpoint is (A+B)/2 distance is sqrt(A-B)^2 perse

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(8, 4) (-4,-2) -------- 4 , 2 : /2 midpoint is 2,1 (8, 4) - (-4,-2) --------- 12, 6 ; sqrt(12^2+6^2) is the diameter; half it for a radius

OpenStudy (amistre64):

for a center (h,k) and a radius (r): the equation of a circle is defined as\[(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2\]

okay thanks a bunch!!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck
