how do political parties impact the public when it comes to voting ?
welll political parties have to advertise themselves to the public
so they impact the publics decision on voting
some how i have to make that into a paragraph .
ok Political parties impact the public when it comes to voting by their decisions. political parties have to Advertise themselves so that they can win the campaign. In all the political parties impact the publics physical feelings and emotions on how they should vote and who they should vote for. when it comes to voting the political parties advertise themselves to make their campaign sound better then the next party. Which in turn changes the publics thoughts and opinions on how they should vote thus impacting the public when it comes to voting.

Your assignment How does Waddington define the essential task of policing? How does the story of the shift he observed with the two Chicago officers illustrate his definition? While there are many functions that police perform, what is the most basic one, common to police in a variety of countries? Discuss. Your essay should be at least 750 words long (in Word 2010, click on the Review tab to find the Word Count feature). Please use the academic format: a. First, write a thesis statement that explains, in a nutshell, what Waddington thinks the essential function of police is. “In this chapter Waddington argues that the definition of policing is…” o Note: It sounds like a first draft if you begin, “In this paper I will discuss what Waddington believes the definition of policing is.” Instead, decide ahead of time what Waddington’s definition is, and start with that. b. Next, write an introduction that includes your thesis statement. The introduction of the paper should serve as a preview of the conclusion. c. Now organize your supporting discussion. d. Then write a conclusion that reminds the reader of what the paper set out to do. But, if you find that your conclusion contains new ideas such that it differs from the introduction, go back and rewrite the introduction! e. A works cited section, even if the only work cited is the one that is the subject of the paper.
this is the assignment
Due Friday, November 15, 2013, by midnight; upload to Blackboard / Assignments On Blackboard under Course Documents, you will find a chapter by British criminologist P.J. Waddington called “What is Policing?” Notice that it is 31 pages long – so don’t hit the PRINT command until you read this description. Background What is the essence of police work? Most people – including police officers themselves -- will answer that police officers are there to prevent crime. But Waddington, who has studied police officers in many countries, and who has read the academic literature on policing, disagrees. The research, he tells us, shows that the essential function of police is not crime prevention. So what is it? To answer this question, he describes a ride-along he did with two Chicago officers and states that he has chosen to describe it because the actions of these officers are typical of the work done by officers in many countries. Of course, police perform many functions, and he discusses a number of these functions. Note in particular his discussion of exercising authority on page 20. But you have to read the section called Conclusions (p. 31) to get his clearest statement of what policing is. Focus on the first five pages of Waddington’s chapter, as well as the last four pages (28-31). The section entitled “Conclusions” (p. 31) begins with the following: What is policing? It is the exercise of the authority of the state over the civil population.
