solve 3csc^2x-4=0

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Add 4 on both sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Did you do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Now divide by 3 on both sides. You get csc^2 x= something Take square root and you get the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so csc=2/rt3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or sin=rt3/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

????

OpenStudy (ranga):

sin(2x) = sqrt(3) / 2 2x = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin(x)=rt3/2*

OpenStudy (aravindg):

2/root 3 is right!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x=pi/3 and 2pi/3 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IM SOLVING FOR X ARVINDG

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Indeed so sin 60=root 3/2 ie pi/3

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Yes well done!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 2pi/3?

OpenStudy (ranga):

sin(2x) = sqrt(3) / 2 2x = pi/3 or 2pi/3 x = pi/6 or pi/3 sine is a periodic function and so any multiples of 2pi will also give you the same sine value. x = pi/6 +/- n(2pi) or pi/3 +/- n(2pi) where n = 0, 1, 2, 3, ...
