Why do beads of water often form on a slippery surface, such as a freshly waxes car?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the waxy surface is hydrophobic, which mean it repels water molecules, the water it self is a polar molecule and therefore, water molecule are attracted to other water molecules, as a result the water on the waxy car like to group together in beads

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

a similar phenomena is observed when oil (highly hydrophobic) is present on the surface of water this time the oil forms the bead shapes
