OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Limit of a function without graphics. Algebraic way :)

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow -3}\frac{ x ^{3}+x ^{2}-21x-45 }{ x ^{3}+7x ^{2}+15x+9 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you just plug in 3 for x

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Nope, it is an idetermination. If you plug in, it is 0/0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, since the numerator and the denominator has the same degree of 3 wouldn't the limit just be 1 then?

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Nope, there are ways in which you factorize...the thing is that I dont know how to factorize this function

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Factor out the numerator and denominator.

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Just got it, thanks :)

OpenStudy (shamil98):

and simplify what you can in the numerator and denominator , and then plug in your x value
