Mitosis happens in body cells or somatic cells for cell growth and repair while meiosis occurs in gametes or sex cells during reproduction. Keep this note stuck in your head.

Meiosis is the process in which a cell divides into four daughter cells, each having only 23 chromosomes rather than 46.
