If Chlorox is any kind of bleach, then adding an acid will result in the release of chlorine gas \(Cl_2\) which is highly irritating for the lungs and TOXIC.

it doesn't go boom, that was the point of the experiment
and I didn't give any erroneous information by stating that a buffer is being created in the process depending on the concentration of the mixture.
