Are there any easy ways to remember all four conic sections?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

This is an unusual type of question. Easy way to remember for you, without having to struggle, is rvw a long time before you have the test, or whatever you are preparing for. Like do it once or 3 times per day.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The test was today, and I'm skipping. >.<

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Wow... didn't know that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I have the weekend now to do it. So I think I'll be good.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yeah, think so. just review carefully, and take your time every 3-4 hours.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

there are only 4 conic sections?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

planar, or spacial?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[\frac{(x-h)^2}{a^2}+\frac{(y-k)^2}{b^2}=1\] if \(a^2 = b^2\) it is a circle if \(a^2 \ne b^2\) it is an ellipse if \(a^2\) or \(b^2\) (but not both) is a negative, its a hyperbola if one of the terms x or y terms is completly missing, it a parabola
