|dw:1384524429848:dw| Find the measure of arc AC in degrees, given that the shaded region has an area of 26.18 square centimeters. If necessary, round your answer to two decimal places.

hero (hero):

You can use the following proprotion to solve: \[\frac{\text{area of sector}}{\text{area of circle}} = \frac{\text{arc length}}{\text{circumference of circle}}\]

hero (hero):

I would rather write it this way as it is more simplistic: \[\dfrac{x}{\pi r^2} = \frac{y}{2 \pi r}\] Of course x = area of sector y = arc length

hero (hero):

If you plug in the given info x = 26.16 r = 5 We have: \[\frac{26.16}{\pi (5)^2} = \frac{y}{2 \pi (5)}\]

hero (hero):

Solving for y gives you the length measurement of arc AC
