If you are trying to find the value of x, first you put all the x's on one side so we subtract 3x from both sides to get \[5x-3x+6=-8\] Which simplfies to\[2x+6=-8\] Now we need to put all the plain numbers on one side so we subtract 6 from both\[2x=-8-6\] \[2x=-14\] Now we divide both sides by 2 to get just x\[x = -7\] Which is your answer
