Wikipedia is a great start for many topics like these. It gets you the right terms and names much of the time. Now, your professor may think Wikipedia is evil. The best way to use it is to follow the links to sources it takes from and evaluate them yourself OR use the names and terms it lists as search keys and find other resources that cover the same topics. This lets you use Wikipedia without ever citing it as a source.
