assume f(x)=4x+8 and g(x)=5. what is the value of (g o f)(-1)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm g(x) = 5?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

doesn't look like a function, more like just a constant, wonder what the "x" is doing there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(g o f)(-1) this means whatever the output of the function f(-1), it will be the input of g(x) in other words g(f(-1))

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well... isn't that a bit .... ahemm... amiss... I mean.... g(x) = 5... there's no "x" to plug f(x) into

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yesh, i agree XD
