This is incredibly frustrating, I've read through some of the questions on here and there is a ton of conflict in the answers. So my question for you is why can't people just be respectful of other people's choices and belief and let go of the stereotypes and prejudice? Just my opinion but for all of you claim to be religious and then go about bashing other's religions wouldn't that go against your morals? I mean seriously what happened to R-E-S-P-E-C-T?

I've never really took a course on religion but have studied some and come to my own understanding.  I don't know what Hippocampus Religion courses teach and some of what I read in this format seems to be not academic but spoon feed beliefs from other sources.  Generally in the academic arena one's position is cited and traditionally in Christianity it's called polemics.  One's personal beliefs should not come up for discussion unless planning on founding a new religion as is done in Christianity with some many denominations.  The study of Religion should respect all and where you disagree you must delve further and see if it mainstream or heretical.

dear @elephantine.....u r right and yh if everyone show respect to each others beliefs, thinking, and etc.....everything would go so well and peaceful.....and tht would be so great ...but some people just dont understand....

Belief essentially mean "a firm trusted habit" which is generally adopted through family, culture, and religion.  I learn early on, though some family members didn't, to respect elders, I always called my aunts and uncles by aunt or uncle so-n-so, called teachers by MR, and later Professor so=n-so.
Some beliefs must be in common such as stopping on red lights, those who don't cause accidents, or not using, abusing another person such as lying to get what they want, as sex, money, or stealing and cheating for means of obtaining something.  Other morals one learns depends on source, generally Jews, Christians, and Muslim use the Torah, Pentateuch, aka The Five Books of Moses.
