What does a low partition coefficient mean? less than one? I think its that it will not be a good solvent to extract whatever is needed, but I'm not sure.

\(K_{o/w}=\dfrac{\%_{oil}}{\%_{water}}\) a partition coefficient compares the distribution of a substance between oil and water. So, a lower partition coefficient means that the substance has a higher solubility in water.
