it probably helps if you thing of this one in terms of "a" or "apples"
√5 + 6 √5
= a + 6a
= 7a

so answer is 7 √5

first break it down into smaller terms
3 √5 + 6 √45 ... 45 is a factor of 5 and 9
= 3 √5 + 6 √5 x √9 ... sqrt of 9 is 3
= 3 √5 + 6 √5 x 3
= 3 √5 + 6 x 3 √5
= 3 √5 + 18 √5 now if it helps again substitute √5 for "a"
= 3a + 18a
= 21a now subsitiute back to √5
= 21 √5

for your question specifically, we'll run through quickly
(5 + √3) (5 - √3) ...substitute out
= (a + b ) (c + d) ... now using FOIL, becomes:
= (a x c ) + (a x d) + (b x c) + (b x d)
... now substitute back and solve
= (a x c ) + (a x d) + (b x c) + (b x d)
= (5 x 5 ) + (5 x [- √3]) + (√3 x 5) + (√3 x - √3)
= 25 + -5√3 + 5√3 + -3
= 25 -5√3 + 5√3 -3
= 25 - 3
= 22
