Solve: y=e^x - 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it \(y=e^x -4\)? or \(y=e^{x-4}\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh sorry, um its the 1st one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First you set y=0; 0=e^x-4 Add 4 to both sides 4=e^x do the natural log of both sides ln4=ln(e^x) know: ln(e^x)=x*ln(e) ln(e)=1 therefore: ln4=x*1 x=ln(4)

ooh thank you
