Researchers are trying to use iron to stimulate phytoplankton growth. Phytoplankton removes excess carbon from the atmosphere because too much carbon makes the earth warmer. If the researchers are correct, adding iron to stimulate phytoplankton: A: will keep Earth's temperatures constant. B: can eventually make the Earth's temperatures warmer. C: can eventually cool the Earth's temperature. D: can reduce the amount of iron in the water. E: will have no effect on its growth. Would it be A or C?
I would go with C since the question makes it sound as if there is already excess carbon, so the temperature won't stay constant once the phytoplankton start to take away carbon. Although, it is going toward a constant temperature eventually, once all the excess carbon is gone.
Is this what there teaching in schools these days? lol
