this is a small one but i don't under stand what it means. subtract the lower number from the higher number

Can you write the whole problem? It's hard to decide what the phrase means without context!
Say you have 2 and 5. 2 is less than 5.. so you subtract 2 from 5. Basically, 5 - 2 .
It either means: 1. Subtract the number of smaller value from the number of larger value ie 7 >5, so 7-5 or 2. Physically lower ie. fraction/geometry graphs
but what about decimals as in 1.50 how would i do that?
It is the same thing. 1.50 is less than 1.75 All you do is subtract 1.50 from 1.75. 1.75 - 1.50 = 0.25
