this is a small one but i don't under stand what it means. subtract the lower number from the higher number

Say you have 2 and 5.
2 is less than 5..
so you subtract 2 from 5.
Basically, 5 - 2 .

1. Subtract the number of smaller value from the number of larger value

ie 7 >5, so 7-5

or

2. Physically lower ie. fraction/geometry graphs

but what about decimals as in 1.50 how would i do that?

It is the same thing.
1.50 is less than 1.75
All you do is subtract 1.50 from 1.75.
1.75 - 1.50 = 0.25
