y=-7x-9

OpenStudy (shamil98):

What about it?

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Do you need to find the slope and y-intercept?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

write an eqution of each line in standard form with integer coefficients

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oh...hello newbie...welcome to openstudy

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Standard form is Ax + By = C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

y = -7x - 9 add 7x to both sides 7x + y = -9 <-- standard form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

y = -7x - 9 we want the -7x on the other side with the y term. So if we add 7x to both sides, because what you do on one side, you have to do on the other side....let me show you y = -7x - 9 (add 7x to both sides) y + 7x = -7x + 7x - 9 (combine like terms) y + 7x = -9 (you see how the 7x terms on the right side cancel each other out) Now rearrange the equation to standard for of Ax + By = C and you have 7x + y = -9 understand ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u very much :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

no problem :)
