Is the function \[f(t)=\frac{ L }{ 1+Ce^-bt }\] known as A. a logistic growth function or B. an exponential growth function that is used to model population growth when resources are A. limited or B. unlimited? In this function, L represents the __________ of the environment for this population.

I got Logistic for the first answer & limited for the second answer, but I do not know what the last one would be

OpenStudy (btaylor):

L is the maximum value of the logistic curve, so the upper limit of the environment. For example, human population cannot grow infinitely. It will eventually even out because of the earth's carrying capacity. So, it occurs when resources are limited. http://www.whitman.edu/mathematics/calculus_online/logistic_slope_field.png
