list two properties that you could use to tell the difference between baking soda and sugar. Explain how each property would be different for the two materials. How would you set up the test?

pH test- testing the acidity/basicity of the substance. Baking soda should have a higher pH vs the sugar. Solubility test- how well does one dissolve in water. Baking soda should be more soluble in water than sugar.
Simpler Tests: Add vinegar. There is effervescence in Baking Soda. Not in sgar. Plus the solublity test!
