OpenStudy (anonymous):

A curve with polar equation r=41/(7sin(theta)+43cos(theta)( represents a line. This line has a Cartesian equation of the form y = mx + b ,where m and b are constants. Give the formula for y in terms of x. For example, if the line had equation y = 2x+3 then the answer would be 2*x + 3 .

OpenStudy (amistre64):

work the math .... multiply each side by the denominator; distribute the r thru; and redifine the parts by: x = r cos y = r sin

OpenStudy (amistre64):

r = k/(b sin + a cos) r(b sin + a cos) = k b r sin + a r cos = k by + ax = k etc ...
