Who was James Oglethorpe? (I need large amounts of detail)

James Edward Oglethorpe was a British general, Member of Parliament, philanthropist, and founder of the colony of Georgia. As a social reformer, he hoped to resettle Britain's poor, especially those in debtors' prisons, in the New World.

This is for a newspaper project, so what I would like to do is to interview you , and put that into my newspaper.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that ok?

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Interview me about what? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What you think about James Oglethorpe and your thoughts about what he did.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First Question: What do you think about him personally?

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

He hoped to resettle Britain's poor economy at the time. Very intelligent and thought about the citizens rather then himself.

What do you think about his actions that he did in England?
