well dude... i wont say that critical thinking will help the scientist to think accurately... but i can say that it will help them to think effectively... 
In case a person who went on doing a research to produce a new product or way... he will face the same problem all the time in his experiments....... going through the same way where he came....

so we can simply consider that critical thinking can help scientists to think accurately but it alone cant make them achievable to what they are thinking....

and iam not sure anything over bias...
