how do i find the value of x for this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello anyone

OpenStudy (ranga):

some info missing. Is the included angle given? what is the middle line in the triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

il add whats left in a sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is all i was given

OpenStudy (ranga):

I think something else is missing. Lengths of two sides are not sufficient to determine a triangle.

OpenStudy (ranga):

Just imagine the side with length 12 and the side with length 14 being brought closer together or spread apart. x could be anything. You need one more piece of info to fix the triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how to do i respond to someone not in here Mertsj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like

OpenStudy (ranga):

Does it say anywhere that the middle line bisects the angle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it doesnt

OpenStudy (radar):

Or is there a right angle symbol antwhere |dw:1384821880305:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

90

OpenStudy (radar):

I would suggest if nothing else is given, pursue the similar triangle, yes 90 or any of them 90?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at the second screenshot

OpenStudy (radar):

Yes I see the answer, use similar triangles.|dw:1384822094349:dw|
