Sarah read that skateboarding burns about 100 calories every 20 minutes. She made a table of values to compare time and calories burned. The function represents the relationship between minutes of skateboarding (x) and calories burned (y). For this scenario, is the function discrete or continuous? How do you know? Use at least 3 sentences in your answer.

Hmm looks like this ia a continuous function because it just keeps going up.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Not 100 percent sure.

I also think it is a continuous function. But it going up would make it linear. So it's continuous and linear. But, continuous means all of the numbers between such as decimals or fractions. There is time between 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 minutes. There are also calories between for that time. Also, when a continuous function is graphed it has a connected line unlike a discrete function which has no line. I was just confirming my answer.:) Thank you!
