x+y=-3 y=x+3

hero (hero):

Hint: replace y with x + 3 in the first equation: x + (x + 3) = -3

hero (hero):

Continue solving for x

hero (hero):

After you solve for x, find the value of y.

@waterpologoalie do you know if the bigger denominator matters in a hyperbola

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To solve this, you can substitute one equation into the other: x+(x+3)= -3 Because the second equation tells us that y is the same as x+3, we can put x+3 in place of y. Then you can solve! 2x+3= -3 2x= -6 x= -3 x+y=-3 (-3)+y= -3 y=0 Therefor x= -3 and y= 0!

sorry @Karina1 I'm not sure!
