What does Control mean in science fair terms?

You have three types of variables: controlled, manipulated, and responding. Controlled variables are the variables you keep the same throughout the experiment Manipulated variables are the things that you change Responding variables are the results of your experiment For example, if you heated water: Controlled: amount of water, temperature of the room, air pressure, etc. Manipulated: heat applied to water Responding: temperature of the water :)

Yep, so the word constant and control pretty much mean the same thing. It's basically the thing you keep the same, or don't change, throughout the experiment!
