Question 1. 1. Which statement best describes the election of 1800? (Points : 1) The election of 1800 proved how unnecessary the Electoral College was in choosing the president. The election showed that it was finally Thomas Jefferson's chance to be president, so he won in a landslide. This election went to the House of Representatives and led to an amendment to the Constitution. John Adams would have won, but he and Aaron Burr got in a duel and he was killed, so Thomas Jefferson became president.
