Question

Okay, so this is my concern.
it involves the old and new users, so my concern is that people who are joining and people who have been here for a while have lost sight of what this site is really used for.
Does anyone truly remember what openstudy is here for? some of the users think this place is meant to mingle and find a relationship. but this site is so much more than what you make it out to be.. and some of the other things I've noticed is that we still have a trolling problem, it hasnt really been taken care of, that also hinders our purpose as a official site..

I have been part of OS for 2 years now and this is still one of our major problems. I dont think its been addressed yet.

Yeah! OS is supposed to be used to help students achieve their educational goals. A place where they can come and get an understanding of new or difficult processes and such. Now it's used only for a hang out and a cheating site. :(

I mean take music and math chat and groups. two of the most active groups i've been in for 2 years. and now that i've seen them over the years. they have had alot of closet couples i guess.I can't honestly say what their intentions are but this leads to problems

Iv been here for a few years now, atleast 4 and I can say this website has changed A LOT since than. The purpose has seemed to drifted from what it is supposed to be. Not really sure how we can fix this problem.

the mod tools have not evolved to handle the growth of the site ... suspending an account when it takes less then 10 seconds to create a new account tends to defeat it.

Wow. You guys all have very strong opinions about this. And I agree with most of them. I have only been on OS for like a month. Maybe two. But I looked over the rules, and most people do miss use this site. I have to confess - I have done this as well at times. Not the cheating thing!! I love to have things explained, and all I want is some help. I don't just post a question and ask for A B or C. As of now I am still trying to get help on a question. :/ But the talking to people, and making friends - I do a lot. Cursing, trolling, dating, and that I do not. But everything you guys are saying saddens me. To know how things once were, and how they are now....You all make great points, and really know who to argue them! :) I hope everything you wish this site to be like will happen here soon. ♥

and also i think new users should record them selves reading a oath that says they promise to follow OS CoC and that email will be sent and the OS company will either approve the account and activate it or decline it. This is were the evading suspension part comes in before the OS company activate it they check the IP address to see if any users have been suspended with the same IP address. i think this is a great idea : )
