a false cognate is a word in English that sounds like the word in Spanish, but it is not the meaning of the word. for this one, ropa=clothes, but people may think that ropa means rope since it sounds like rope. therefore the answer is rope.

Yep, another example is CARPET.... Carpet in spanish is alfombra but some people confuse CARPET, with CARPETA which means FOLDER.
