French Future Proche?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Tu manges au restaurant." "Nous jouons au ping-pong."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need help converting it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

messages aren't working?! >.< @whalexnuker

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, they're not D;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OS is messed up because i didn't even get that notification .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Future Proche: always paired with another verb: verbe "Aller" au present + action verb à l'infinitif infinitif: is the non-conjugated form of the verb: ex :"manger, finir, savoir, ect" verbe aller conjugé au present: je vais, tu vas, il va, nous allons, vous allez, ils vont. So for the two examples you gave: Tu manges becomes Tu vas manger Nous jouons becomes Nous allons jouer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get them either >.< i dont even have a number beside my icon as usual. site is broken.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does the rest stay the same? o.o this reminds me of the conjunctions which i could never do lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the rest stays the same. the conjugation (or tense) of the verb is all that changes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, okay... i need help with negatives :3. i understand negatives but with adding "si" confuses me. sorry, lol. my teacher got back to me. anyways. (this isn't a negative, i just need help making sure it's right) Ma soeur et moi ___________ un gâteau pour l’anniversaire de notre maman. fait font faites faisons (i said this because it's "we")

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Choose the sentence written properly in the negative: Vous ne faites pas de tennis le weekend. Je parle pas anglais. Nous n’avons des pantalons jaunes. Tu ne aimes pas la voile. i'm not sure on this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this one is stupid xD "Quelle température fait-il?" Il fait froid. Il neige. Il fait 5 degrés. (i said this because this is the only one to make sense) C’est le printemps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its the first one because it's the only one with both NE and PAS. i didn't know you could DO tennis though. ne aimes should be n'aimes [n' counts as ne though]. otherwise this would be right. for the next one you chose right since temperature should be a measure not an observation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the last one has ne and pas in it.. but im bad at knowing when it should be n'__ pas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i looked it up and apparently FAIRE du tennis works, although people are aware that it's awkward to say. ne is when the first letter after ne is a consonnant n' is when the first letter after "ne" is a vowel ne mange pas ça n'arrive pas trop tard ne lui dit pas n'importe quoi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, okay :3 i just never remember it. I just have one more test to do.. it was A. Tell me what the correct answer to this is because i missed it O_o "Select the answer matching the question: C’est quelle saison? C’est en novembre. (i said this) Il fait chaud. Il fait 30 degrés. C’est l’hiver."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

saison = season hiver = winter answer would be D novembre c'est un mois

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh, I thought it would be the last one but A was the only different one.. i took the question as "what season is it in" or "what season is that" (something related) and november gives that versus winter... anywho. o.o I have "Match the image with the word: les informations" I have a deck of open cards, i have a ""sale 40% off original retail" picture, a lion, and a weather person with the weather behind him... is it the weather dude? that gives more information than the sale

OpenStudy (anonymous):

very weird question. it is one or the other. must be the weather guy though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Select the answer matching the question: "Aimes-tu le hockey?" Je déteste le hockey. (this) J’aime jouer au hockey le dimanche. Ma cousine joue au hockey. Je joue au parc Fill in the blank with the correct adjective: Je regarde un ______ film ce soir. vieil (this) beau nouvel belle Fill in the blank with the correct adjective: Ma sœur et moi achetons de _____ robes pour le printemps. vieille beaux (this) nouvelles bel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first is right 2nd is beau. like with n' and ne, vieil is used when the next word starts with a vowel while vieux for consonants. only vieux film would make sense. 3rd one would be nouvelles. beau is masculin while robe is feminin belles robes would work but in this case you have to pick the only feminin pluriel which is nouvelles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would you mind if i close this question as we continue?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correction: vieil used when the SOUND of the next word starts with a vowel. like vieil homme. the h is silent so it starts with a 'o' sound. i don't mind ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same with n'. silent h's count as vowels like n'hésites pas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Select the statement or question written correctly: Ce garçon est beau. Quels hôtel choisis-tu? (not this because it should be "quel" since hotel is sing. masculine) Cet école est à Caen. Quelle activitées aimes-tu faire en automne? (it is plural but i dont know the gender..either way it's wrong because "quelle" is sing. feminine)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same thing.. Ce amie est nouvelle. Quelle musée visites-tu? Cet émission est drôle. Quels sports préfères-tu?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is correct on the second one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one. since école is sing.fem. it should be Cette école. answer is A second one, you're right ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

last two test questions. I have a butt load of essays that i'll see if i need help with Choose the sentence which matches the meaning of the IR verb: applaudir Je suis au concert et c’est super! (this) J’achète la robe rouge. Je fais une promenade tous les jours. J’étudie beaucoup pour l’examen et j’ai un A+. Choose the sentence which matches the meaning of the IR verb: grossir Je mange au restaurant tous les jours. (this >.>) Je vais au gymnase tous les jours. Je n’écoute pas mes parents. Je fais mes devoirs tous les jours.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol right for both

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Read and respond to the question your pen pal asked. Mes émissions préférées sont les feuilletons policiers et les émissions de sports. J’adore regarder les matchs de rugby et les compétions de tennis. Mon feuilleton favori est Cold Case. Et toi, qu’est-ce que tu regardes à la télé? Quelle emission est-ce que tu aimes? my answer: Je regarde concours de cuisine à la télé. (I watch cooking competitions on the tv) what is the second question it asks..? the emission?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya. the particular show title. Masterchef? <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw add "des" between regarde and concours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cutthroat Kitchen :3 It's really hard to pick one LOL. so i'd say: Je regarde cuisine fardée

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol what is fardée?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cutthroat o.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol. i never heard that word before. you could use quotation marks anytime around non-french words I'd leave it as "Cutthroat Kitchen"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah, okay. so take away cuisine fardée and put cutthroat kitchen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya, id do that, in quotation marks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well actually, she used Cold Case without quotation marks so it's acceptable without

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eh, better safe than sorry :p my french teacher is easy so she won't take points off if i didn't use them or did. thanks so much :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol you deleted the question :P was kind of strange too. do they give you a map or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

XD Because i realized i was being silly and it wasn't a "to get to from here, go ____". it gives a history lesson on the first page of every module and i got it. technically yeah i have a map xd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hehe ok :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im done for today ^_^ i'll need you tomorrow and thursday or friday

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty ^_^ have a good day! see you tomorrow :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually, i could use you right now, i messed up on an assignment because i didn't understand it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My responses were: 1. Il nage. 2. Elle marche. 3. Je suis assis. 4. Nous skions. 5. Ils dansent. 6. Ils étudient. and my feedback was: They do want you to use the "faire"expression for each one. Can you use "faire de la natation" and say "he is swimming"? Can you use 'faire une promenade'' and conjugate for Elle? Can you use "faire un voyage" and conjugate for "Je"? Can you use "faire du ski" and say "we are skiing"? Use "faire de la danse" conjugate for ils Use "faire les devoirs" conjugate for "elles" You have a good start but we do need "faire" in each answer and it needs to be conjugated properly. (Je fais, tu fais, il/elle fait, nous faisons, vous faites/ils-elles font)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya they want you to explicitly say what he is doing rather than use a verb that describes it. i guess this is all about the verbe Faire à l'indicatif présent 1. Il fait de la natation 2. Elle fait une promenade [akwkward but works] 3. i love your answer! would be: Il fait un voyage 4. Nous faisons du ski 5. Ils font une danse 6. Ils font des devoirs [not sure why your teacher used elles. when there is 1+ male it is masculin by default]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my bad. i should have read the image u sent for every question: 3. Je fais un voyage 6 Elles font des devoirs
