Write the slope-intercept form of the equation parallel to y = 7x + 2, which passes through the point (1, -3). A. y = 7x - 10 B. y = -1/7 x + 2 C. y = 7x - 3 D. y = -7x + 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

leos what is the same with about parrelel lines?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are equalaterial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no haha its the slope or in the slope intercept form x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so in your question y = 7x + 2, 7x is the slope so we know that in the equation of the paralell line will have the slope of 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it still the same when it passes through 1 and-3??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope wont affect where the line will pass through it will just determine how it will be slanted...The next question i have for you is do you know what the 2 represents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the number that would be on the x-axis??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to go back in your lesson and learn these things because trust me if you don't know the basics i cant help you on this question...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so do you think you can just give me the answer please??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i will give you the answer but you have to learn this or you will never make it past math... y = 7x - 10. Also here is a boss website you need to check out (it graphs things for you) http://www.geogebra.org/cms/en/
