Find the value of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#11 is 67?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes 11 is 67

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And the second one is 44

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11. 2x+46=180 minus 46 2x=134 divide by 2 x=67 13. 2*68+x=180 multiply 136+x=180 subtract 136 x=44

@funfun you can't just give an answer you have to show how you got there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the out side angle is equal to the sum of the two given angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, you know that a triangle equals 180 degrees, so you have to find out what number fits into all the equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

forget my last comment the bottom angles are equal and if you add the outside angle with the not given inside angle you get 180 5x+12+3x8=180 combine terms 8x+20=180 subtract 20 8x=160 divide by 8 x=20 substitute to see if it works 5x+12+3x+8 5*20+12+3*20+8 multiply 100+12+60+8 add 180 x=20

@mathman806 right, thanks, I was trying to figure out how to explain it lol
