What is the difference? 1/9 - 5/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First step when working with fractions is to get a common denominator.. do you know how to do that? an example is 1/2. If i wanted this to be in "sixths" I would figure out what to multiply the bottom by to get 6, and then multiply the top by that as well. In that case, it would be 3. So 1/2 = 3/6

If that made sense to you, then what you should do now is try to find a common multiple of 9 and 6. hint (18 might be a good starting place)

thnx!!! :D
