Last week Bill earned $210 for a 30-week. What was his rate of pay? a) What would he have earned for a 40 hour week? b) Use a proportion to show how much Bill earns for a 40-hour week.
his rate of pay is $7 per hour, and a proportion you could use is 210/30 is equal to x/40
how did you find that
you divide $210 by 30 hours, and that gives you how much he makes per hour, and if you set up the proportion, you are givin three pieces of information and you are trying to find one, so you set up 210/30 (210 divided by thirty) is equal to x/40 (x= how much he makes in 40 hours divided by 40 hours) then you cross multiply and divide and you should get the answer
ah okay thanks
he makes $280 for a 40 hour week btw
easier than i thought
yep (:
did you find 280 by following the same method
nvm
i see what you did its 7x 40 since youve already found the rate
